Variations

If the acidity is too much, try adding 1/2 ounce Simply Syrup to sweeten the drink. You can add more or less depending on your preferences.

Some recipes try different ingredients. Hugo Ensslin uses Creme Yvette, and David Embury sometimes uses Parfait d’Amour or even Blue Curcao. The only similarities are that they use lemon or lime juice, and a blue/purple liqueur. The only differences between these liqueurs are that some has strong floral notes, while others have more fruity notes, so it’s a great way to choose your preference.

Blue Moon Mocktail

For those looking to enjoy this drink as a mocktail, there are some fabulous violet syrups that you can grab with lemon-lime sodas, such as Sprite. Mixing these two ingredients could create a wonderful mocktail replication of the Blue Moon.
