Delicious Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate

Delicious Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate

The holidays are here, which means it’s time for us to get into our cozy socks and pajamas, wrap up in blankets, and enjoy everything that is warm. Which means hot chocolate should always be on the menu.

However, it can be boring drinking the same type every year. So why not add some variety to this year with peanut butter hot chocolate? I absolutely love peanut butter. Since middle school I’ve been the kind of person to shovel peanut butter in my mouth with just a spoon, nothing else.

Not only did it give me much needed protein before swim, but it’s just delicious. So why not combine the two to make a decadent and delicious drink for the holidays? If you’re wanting to try some as well, read more to find out how to make one for yourself.

Additions

With peanut butter hot chocolate, there can be several additions. For one, adding caramel to your drink can make it that much richer.

And if you want some more sweetness on top of it already, you can definitely chop up some Reece’s to sprinkle over the top with the whipped cream for a wonderful snack, or just to have it melt a bit more.

How to Store Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate?

If you’re planning on making a larger batch that way you can enjoy it throughout the holiday season to keep you warm, you’ll want to place it in a glass jar with a lid in the fridge and can only be stored up to five days.

However, since there is melted chocolate in the recipe, it’s likely the drink will get solid, so you’ll need to reheat it.

Can You Make It Iced or Frozen?

Yes!

Cold drinks are one of the most popular drinks anymore, even with hot chocolate. There’s something about a cold drink that entices so many, especially me. Even when it snows, I always opt for an iced latte over hot. If you want an iced or frozen drink, you can definitely make one out of this recipe.

For an iced drink, you’ll want to heat up the mixture that way everything comes together, but then either plop it in the fridge and serve with ice, or immediately pour it into ice, however, that will make it watered-down.

If you’re wanting a frozen drink, you’ll want to add in all these ingredients into a blender along with ice. It might take a bit longer to fully bring everything together, but the end result is worth it.

What About Affogatos?

First, what are they?

Affogatos are actually really amazing, they’re basically like coffee floats. They’re an Italian coffee-based dessert where you take a scoop of ice cream or gelato and pour over hot espresso, and it’s the best combination of sweet and bitter all in one spoonful.

But do Affogatos work with Hot Chocolate?

Definitely! It might not be the traditional way to enjoy an Affogato, but if you want to have some peanut butter ice cream at the bottom of a cup before pouring over your decadent and delicious peanut butter hot chocolate, then do so!
