DON’T PANIC. I’m not about to tell you that your student loan is actually about to triple (although, at this rate, who knows?). However, what I am about to tell you may make you one of the rarest kinds of student – the kind that aren’t overdrawn by Christmas.
So, you’ve started University. You’ve done Freshers’ Week, met some new people and (hopefully) had a good time. But when the real stuff kicks in (i.e. work) you may find yourself coming back down to earth with a bump. You might realise that something is missing.
Here we are at the end of my cookbook reviews and we’re finishing off with two very different books… one being cooking on a hefty budget whereas the other is on the other end of the scale, which most students can relate to experiencing, being skint. So if you’ve got the luxury of an extended budget or are really scraping the pennies together – check out these reviews and see whether they are what you are looking for.
Now, we students aren’t the only guilty ones. People of all ages seem to have this stereotypical idea that buying and cooking fresh food is more expensive than loading up on fast food and ready meals – when actually, they couldn’t be more wrong!
Something that’s not the first thing that springs to mind when discussing student issues – depression. If you ask most people to sum up their student experience in a couple of words, you will most likely get something along the lines of “the best years of my life”. This is what makes depression and students so dangerous – it’s under the radar and very rarely talked about. So what about those students who aren’t lucky enough to have the same experience?
