Here we are at the end of the Student Summer Detox with guilt free and healthy snack and treat ideas. For those of you dedicated readers of the SSD (i.e. Student Summer Detox), if anything I want you to have learnt from these blogs is that cooking and healthy eating isn’t impossible or boring – there’s no deprivation or starvation, just enjoying fresh and nutritious food and feeling good on the inside!
So, you’ve started University. You’ve done Freshers’ Week, met some new people and (hopefully) had a good time. But when the real stuff kicks in (i.e. work) you may find yourself coming back down to earth with a bump. You might realise that something is missing.
It’s the end of the Spring Term at university, and those all important deadlines are looming. For some, our dissertations are nearly over and we can enjoy the Summer Term with all the fun events that uni has to offer. For others, there are still exams and deadlines to meet well into the next and last term of the academic year.
Most of you will have experienced the highs and lows of the infamous Freshers’ Week by now – the highs being the epic student drink deals and the novelty of having a permanent sleepover, the lows being the mammoth hangovers that inevitably follow coupled with a pang of homesickness. Fear not – Studentrecipes.com has come to the rescue with a post-Freshers’ Week survival guide.
It’s the end of term, you are beginning to pack up your essentials (don’t forget the Christmas jumper!) to drive, bus or train it back home for some family time. If you can’t afford a Christmas roast dinner with your housemates why not do something fun but still just as festive? It will provide a great opportunity to bond with your housemates and have a nice warm cosy evening in full of films and laughs about what you’ll be getting up to over the Christmas holidays.
