Whether you’ve been living in halls or shared housing the past eight months or so or finishing your first, second or even final year at university – all students are sure to experience similar pleasures but also perils of the typical ‘student lifestyle’. Now many of us are back in the safety of our parental homes and away from the buzz of uni life, we may come to realise how much our habits and behaviour have changed since we left. So the new academic year is well under way and we are already being set those deadlines before the Christmas holidays approach. This does not mean you have to feel stressed or under any pressure though, being organised is the key to a happy and less stressful time at university and it will leave you feeling reassured of your deadline dates, give you time to sleep and go out and socialise with your friends as well as giving yourself to go home and enjoy time with your family.
February and March are the perfect months in the year to sow seeds and grow your own veggies! At this time of year long and gruelling library sessions are inevitable, especially if you find working at home is too distracting. Some of you may as well call the library your second home. When those three summer months come round, it’s hard to resist the temptation of going on holiday with friends, especially to get away from the 9am lectures and 5,000 word essays. It’s important however to be responsible when booking a holiday, and to not scrimp and save the important bits! Plenty of research is important, don’t rush into the first thing you see and like, make sure you know everything there is to know about the place and area, don’t go on holiday blindfolded!
