Fairtrade Fortnight ended on Sunday 10 March, a fortnight designated to raising Fairtrade awareness. However it’s not only during this fortnight that Fairtrade should be chosen, with many brands providing Fairtrade goods without you perhaps even realising; and they also don’t cost as much as you may think.
We have all been there. It is still early in the evening, maybe six or seven. You are sitting at your desk, ready to finish your paper. Well, not really.
You are not really ready to finish, or anywhere close. You are not even sure that you are ready to start. You know that you are going to have to do an all-nighter, but you are trying to convince yourself that if you start now, you will be done by 2am. Or 3am.
But who are you kidding? You are going to be here all night long. So you need to stock up on some snacks that will actually make you feel good about the pathetic situation you have put yourself into, yet again.
It’s a nerve-wracking time. Of course, that’s the last thing you need to be told – with manic last-minute packing and enrolment to worry about, you already know. And perhaps you have an inkling of what Freshers’ Week will be like too. But, like many things, it’s hard to know until you’ve actually done it.
It will soon be time to venture out on your first ever food shop by yourself without someone to hold your hand during the process. It won’t be long until your parents’ food parcel will have run out and it will be time to make that trip to the supermarket.
