Chilli Con Carne

delicious and filling on top of a baked potato



  • 500g pack lean minced beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • tin of kidney beans in chilli sace
  • 2 tsp of cumin (add more if it not spicy enough after tasting)
  • dash worcester sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 beef oxo cubes
  • 1.5 litres boiling water
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • sour cream for serving (optional)


dry fry onion garlic and minced beef for five mins

add all other ingredients and simmer on a low heat for a couple hours if you have it. if not just until it reaches desired consistency.

stir regularly to avoid sticking.

serve with white rice or on top of a big baked potato with a dollop of sour cream.
