Delicious, Quick And Cheap Cottage Pie!

Super tasty and super quick!!



  • Beef mince-i use 250-500g
  • potato's- maris piper are best
  • 1 onion
  • cheese-red leister is best
  • grated hard cheese-optional but tasty
  • worcester sauce
  • oregano
  • mixed herbs
  • basil
  • sage
  • gravy granuals
  • oil
  • for mash-
  • butter
  • a tablespoon of mayo


First peel the potato's and put them on to boil

pre heat oven to gas mark 7 i think thats 180 c

chop 1 medium onion

fry the mince and onions in a tiny bit of oil untill there is no red meat only brown.

get an oven proof dish


add some gravy granuals and half a teaspoon of every herb

add a 2 drops of worcester sauce

add a teaspoon of marmite (optional)

and boiling water into a jug

add gravy, mince and onion to the dish


add butter to taste and a tablespoon of mayo

mash it up and season to taste.


spread the mash over the mince and place in top half of oven for 30 mins.

take out of oven and sprinkle hard cheese then cheddar or prefered cheese and grill of high temp untill melted.

now enjoy,
