Pepperoni And Chicken Calzone

A taste of the Italian with this tasty Dish



  • Filling
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained
  • 1 tsp. dried basil leaves
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 4 oz. thinly sliced pepperoni
  • 4oz. Diced Chicken
  • 1 sm. green pepper, chopped
  • 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Dough
  • 650g/1lb 5oz strong white flour
  • 7g sachet of easy-blend yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 25ml/1fl oz olive oil
  • 50ml/2fl oz warm milk
  • 325ml/11fl oz warm water


Prepare pizza dough, Put all dry ingredients into a blender and blend until it is all mixed together then add all the liquid ingredients and blend this should make it all into a dough (add a little flour if the mixture is too wet). Punch down. Divide into 6 equal parts. Roll each part into 7 inch circle on lightly floured surface. Mix tomato sauce, mushrooms, basil, oregano, and garlic. Spread over half of each circle to within 1 inch of edge; top with pepperoni, green pepper, cheese and the chicken. Carefully fold dough over filling. Pinch edges to seal securely. Place sandwiches on greased cooking sheet. Let it rest for 15 minutes. Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Brush sandwiches with egg. Bake until golden brown, about 25 minutes.
