Cup Cake Faces

Ingredients

  • 4oz Margarine
  • 4oz Caster Sugar
  • 4oz Self-raising flour
  • 2 eggs
  • For the topping
  • 2oz Butter
  • 4oz icing sugar
  • pink food coloring
  • 4oz M&Ms
  • 2 red liquorices bootlaces
  • 12 Dolly Mixtures
  • 3oz Plain Chocolate

Method

Set oven to 180c. Place 12 paper cases in a bun tray. Put all cakeingredients into a bowl and beat until smooth. Divide mixture amoung the cake cases and cook for 12-15 minutes until well risen and the cakes spring back when pressed with a fingertip. Leave to cool. Meanwhile make the topping by mixing the butter and the icing sugar together until smooth. add food colouring. Spread over the cakes. Add M&Ms for the eyes, short pieces of liquouish for the mouths and a dolly mixture for the nose. Break the chocolate into pieces melt in a bowl over a saucepan of gently simmering water and then spoon into a geaseproof paper piping bag. Snip off the tip and pipe hair, eyeballs glasses and moustaches onto the cakes. Carefully arrange in a single layer on a serving plate and allow icing to set before serving.
