Egg Free Cookies

Published by Matt

I discovered these by accident

  • NO EGGS!
  • 12oz Self Raising Flour
  • 8oz Soft Margarine
  • 8oz Caster Sugar
  • 2oz Dark Chocolate Drops (or anything else you fancy putting in; smarties, white chocolate drops, raisins etc.)

1 - Mix the ingerdients together in a big bowl, use your hands to knead the dough, it shouldn't be at all crumbly, so add a little more margarine if it is.

2 - Take a small ball of dough, about the size of 1 and a half ping pong balls and squeeze it so it's a circle about 1.5cm thick

3 - Place on a greased tray.

You can make between 16 - 22 cookies, so use 2 trays.

4 - Cook in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 15 mins.

5 - Eat them while they're hot! Taste magic with a glass of milk :)

Making these for my DofE cause my group are going vegan, I used dairy free substitutes for butter and added a little bit of dairy free milk. Don't taste quite like normal cookies but still pretty awesome

Lovely cookies, seriously baking seems to be easy after reading your article, worth giving it a try.Try new ideas by adding your choice ice-cream within the cookies for the same recipe as a ice-cream sandwich.I have tried one from Moojo ice-cream sandwich parlor, was a good combination of warm cookies and chilling ice-cream.

Amazing, recipe was a bit short on butter so I added a little golden syrup to help the dough bind then filled with Nutella. Love this recipe as I don't use eggs much but love baking so easier without them

I love this recipe and have made it for thr "elves" (kids). They enjoyed it so much they said that they taste better than the ones with egg in the cookies! They are quick and easy to make and are fun for kids to help make too.
