Quick Rock Buns

Yummy rock buns! Simple and quick!



  • 150grams self raising flour
  • 75grams block margarine or butter
  • 50grams caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • Choose 1! -
  • 50grams Chocolate Chips
  • 50grams Desiccated Coconut
  • 75grams dried fruit


Sift the flour into a bowl and add the butter/block margarine.

Rub in the butter/block margarine by hand untill a breadcrumb like mixture forms.

Add the sugar and chosen ingredient (e.g. chocolate chips) and mix well.

Break the egg in a seperate bowl and mix (like scrambled eggs but dont add anything!).

Add the egg into the rest of the ingrediets (flour, sugar, etc...)

Make sure it's a doughy mixture, then seperate into lumps, a size of you choice and place on a greased bakeing tray.

Cook for 10 - 15 minuets at 180 degrees celsius or untill golden brown.

Leave to cool, then ENJOY!!! :)

    Soo nice but i thought there would of been more so i had to do it again an double the recipe :( but apart from that mum wants even more! :d

    For those who don't know, rock buns are little bit like scones and cake put together. I think i got told that some people call them "bath buns". im not sure if this is correct or not though...
