Rock Buns

Published Friday, 06 April, 2012 by Rosie

Very simple to make and absolutely yummy!

  • 200g self raising flour
  • 75g margarine/butter
  • 75g caster sugar
  • 75g dried fruit
  • 1 egg
  • 1-2 tablespoons water

Preheat oven to 220 degrees/gas mark 7

Grease baking tray

sieve flour into a mixing bowl. Add the margarine/butter and using fingers mix until it looks like breadcrumbs.

Stir in the sugar and dried fruit.

Crack the egg into a small bowl and whisk with a fork. Add it to the mixture a little at a time. Then add the water, then stir.

Using hands form the mixture into small heaps and then place on to baking tray.

Bake for 15 minutes.

It should still work with plain flour.. But i would recommend you then use some baking powder if not just use the normal flour(:

Willit still work with normal flour or do i have to use self raising?

I'm thinking about making these in school.. I'm not sure if they are going to be any good though and the thought of just piling small heaps on a baking tray makes me think they will end up looking like meringue's.. ;o
