Heat oil in a deep frying pan.
rinse the fish, pat dry, and season with salt and pepper.
put the flour in a bowl with a bit of salt and pepper .
stir the egg into the flour.
gradually mix the beer to make a thin batter.
dip the fish into the batter (the batter should be thin enough to still see the fish)
drop the fish into the hot oil, turn it once, until both sides are golden.
drain on paper towel
serve with chips and mushy peas (use packet instructions)
and they you have it fish and chips!
