Asian-Style Green Beans

Asian-style green beans are a tasty addition to any meal / Serves: 1 / Nutritional info: 1/2 cup: 53 calories, 3g fat (0 saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 460mg sodium, 4g carbohydrate (2g sugars, 1g fiber), 2g protein. Diabetic Exchanges: 1 vegetable, 1/2 fat.


  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 cups frozen cut green beans (about 8 ounces) thawed
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar or honey
  • Sesame seeds optional


In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add green beans; cook and stir until heated through. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in soy sauce and sugar until sugar is dissolved. If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
