Poor Mans Tuna Pasta

Published Wednesday, 11 August, 2010 by Freya

very cheap, tasty and filling pasta!

  • 75g Pasta of your choice per person
  • Tin of tomatoes
  • Tomato puree
  • 1 Red onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Tin of Tuna
  • Chilli powder
  • Mixed Herbs
  • Oil for cooking.
  • Cheese to top it!
  • I tend to have most of this in my cupboard the only thing really to buy is a tin of tuna and cheese!

Set the pasta on to boil.

Heat the oil in a pan and add the chopped onions and garlic, brown the onions for a few minutes.

Add tin of tomato, tomato puree to taste and some water to make it suitably saucy.

Drain and add the tuna, simmer for about 15 minutes stirring every now and again. Add the herbs and chilli powder and salt and pepper to season.

Drain pasta and mix in the sauce, add cheese on top!

This can also be made into a bake.

I think everyone should give this a go as I have given this dish to friends who primarily hated tuna!

  • With this recipe you're just minutes away from a tasty dish! Main ingredient = bread. You probably already have that in your pantry. Thanks, Ridhima for posting on!
