Get the pasta cooking
chop up the onion, garlic and bacon cook it in a pan until satisfactory (you can add the herbs now or when you put the tomatoes in, it doesn't really matter)
stick the can of tomatoes in the pan with the bacon and stuff, let it simmer for a bit.
drain pasta and all that jazz, plate, and enjoy.
optional addition of cheese because it makes everything better.
i make this all the time and it is so easy and tastes delicious.
