Instant Noodles 2.0

Published Saturday, 02 October, 2010 by Georgia

Use your leftovers and sauces in this tasty noodle recipe!

  • 1 Packet of Instant Noodles
  • SAUCE (adaptable to your taste):
  • 2-3tspns Mango Chutney
  • A few pinches of Black Pepper
  • 3-4tspns Soy Sauce
  • 1 tspn Worcestershire Sauce
  • A glug of hot water
  • EXTRAS (all optional):
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Any meats; chorizo and any leftover joints (particularly pork or beef) are the best. Prawns could also work.
  • 1/2 finely sliced fresh chilli
  • A handful of fresh herbs (I like chives and coriander)
  • Vegetables (mushrooms, bell peppers, spring onions all work brilliantly)

1. Chop any extras up into your preferred size first, as the rest will all go very quickly.

2. Put the instant noodles in a pan. Cover with boiled water and cook as normal.

3. Heat the oil in a pan, fry your extras (excluding the herbs) for a minute

4. Add the sauce ingredients to the extras pan. Stir well, and top up with a bit of water, let the sauce thicken.

5. When your noodles are cooked, drain them in a colander and add to the extras pan.

6. Stir the noodles into the sauce and extras, then add herbs.

7. Serve and eat immediately, cleaning up can wait! :D

[Not actually a student... well, not in uni, but I thought this would be useful :D]

These noodles are amazing! So yummy- sweet and spicy and so simple! I added broccoli and thinly sliced cabbage to the sauce and it was gorgeous! Thank you for this recipe! :d
