Belmont Pie (2 People)

An original twist on sausage and mash

Ingredients

  • 4 Sausages
  • 9 Potatoes
  • 1 Tin of Baked Beans
  • 150g Cheese (grated)
  • Splash of Milk
  • Knob of Butter

Method

Pre-heat the Oven to 190 degrees Celsius

Peel the Potatoes

Put the Sausages in the oven

Boil the potatoes

Take the potatoes of the heat

Boil the baked beans whilst creating mashed potato (adding in 50g Cheese, Knob of butter and splash of milk)

Put the beans in an oven-proof dish, put the mash on top and sprinkle with remaining cheese.

Bake in the oven for 10-15minutes (or until cheese is brown)

Serve with the Sausages :)

    This is nothing like the Belmont pie i got at school. I loved it so much that my mum phoned the school to get the recipe. Basically it's your run of the mill mince topped with a mixture of SR flour, butter, a pinch of salt & milk. It is cooked at a low temp slowly in the oven.
