Red Lentil And Tomato Soup

Very cheap, filling and tasty



  • 1 400g tin of tomatoes
  • 50g of red lentils
  • 1 onion
  • 1 stick of celery (optional)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of chilli (or to taste)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of oil


Chop the onion, garlic and celery and fry gently in the oil, add the tinned toms, chilli and lentils and simmer for about 20mins until the lentils are tender.
