Anything Rice
Published Tuesday, 20 April, 2010 By Gemma
Ingredients
- - rice (brown or white, basmati rice is best)
- - mushrooms
Method
Put some rice on to boil and chop up the mushrooms while it's cooking. (use mushrooms generously as they shrink when cooked, i always find i haven't added enough mushrooms) when chopped up, place in a bowl or plate and cook in the microwave on full power for 3 minutes, no water or butter is needed as mushrooms are fantastic for microwaving! :) when the rice is cooked, add the mushrooms and mix up adding some salt to finish.

Add garlic butter for extra taste
and tinned mushrooms are nice too - cheap own brand are fine
i often do this - for real uxury(!!) fry some miixed peppers and add to the rice and mushrooms and there will be enough juice to make it less dry or bland :)
