- 1. skinless, boneless chicken breast half. only one needed.
- 2. any type of pasta.
- 3. fat free margarine
- 4. flour
- 5. milk
- 6. any cheese you like.
- 7. pepper or/and salt.
- 8. sweet corn. (can have without.)
- 9. maybe try adding something for presentation, like parsley?
For the sauce:
stir 1/4 cup butter or smart balance (a trans-fat free margarine) in a saucepan on medium high heat. Stir in 1/4 cup flour and whisk until it's bubbly and smooth. Remove from heat and add milk and stir until it's at a consistency you like (less for thicker, more to thin). Add any cheese you like (parmesan, american, cheddar, etc) and stir until it's melted. You can make this in 5 + minutes. Easy to make. Welcome to add pepper or salt to make it sweeter.
For the pasta:
bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain and reserve.
For the chicken:
meanwhile, in a large lightly greased skillet over medium heat, cook chicken for about 15 minutes and remove from pan; cool and dice. If to would like to add sweet corn, begin cooking it. Once the chicken is done, add the sweet corn, add the sweet corn, chicken, cheesy sauce and pasta together in a bowl. Mix together and place into a baking tray. Sprinkle cheese on top of the pasta, chicken and cheese, and bake until cheese is a golden brown and melted.
