Burger King is bringing back its Crown Nuggets nationwide starting June 2, giving longtime fans another shot at the crown-shaped chicken bites for the first time since 2011.
The limited-time fast-food return arrives just ahead of a new Crayola-themed King Jr. Meal, which starts June 9 and adds a more playful twist for families.
According to Burger King, the Crayola partnership includes a co-branded 4-pack of Crayola crayons, a colorable crown, and an interactive meal bag. Simple stuff, but for parents or grandparents eating with kids, that kind of mealtime distraction can go a long way.
A summer throwback with a family angle
Burger King said the Crown Nuggets return is tied to guest demand and a wider push to make meals more fun for families.
“We’ve been committed to creating awesome experiences for the whole family and listening to our Guests, and bringing back our Crown Nuggets allows us to do both of those things,” said Joel Yashinsky, Chief Marketing Officer, Burger King US&C. “And, by partnering with Crayola, the brand known for inspiring creativity and imagination to generations of families, we’ve created a King Jr. Meal experience that brings more fun and interaction to mealtime for Guests of all ages.”
As Burger King put it, the Crayola-themed King Jr. Meal is meant to turn mealtime into something more hands-on, with coloring and creativity built into the packaging.
Crayola also framed the deal around family time.

What are Crown Nuggets?
Crown Nuggets are Burger King chicken nuggets shaped like miniature crowns. That’s the hook. Men’s Journal reported that the item has been off the menu for about 15 years, which helps explain why the comeback has a nostalgia pull for people who remember them from earlier Burger King runs.
Crown Nuggets will be available while supplies last starting June 2 at Burger King restaurants nationwide. Information from PR Newswire shows they can be ordered as part of the $3.99 King Jr. Meal, which also includes a side and drink. They can also be ordered as an 8-piece serving.
