“Lovely Day for a Guinness”

Guinness and Van Leeuwen came together and made a 14-ounce pint of beer-flavored ice cream. Also known as “Lovely Day for a Guinness,” the mixture also features chocolate chunks mixed throughout.

The name calls back to the ads of the 1950s, which have been revamped into new campaigns. Even the packaging has a callback to this summer’s limited-edition Guinness Draught Stout. The historic toucan art is mixed with a modern American twist for an unforgettable pint.

In a joint press release about the new product, Karissa Downer, brand director of Guinness, stated:

“This collaboration with Van Leeuwen captures the simple summer joys that sit at the heart of our ‘A Lovely Day’ campaign – like sharing a scoop of ice cream, a pint of Guinness, a time with the people who make those moments matter. It’s one more way to come together over a Guinness and enjoy your lovely days this summer.”

Where Can You Buy the Ice Cream?

You can buy pints of the flavored ice cream at Van Leeuwen Scoop Shops nationwide for $11.15 or online at vanleeuwenicecream.com for $12 until supplies are gone.

Other Van Leeuwen Collaborations

This isn’t the first wacky collaboration for Van Leeuwen. The ice cream brand has teamed up with several other companies to provide exciting flavors, such as Kraft Mac & Cheese, Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard, and Hidden Valley Ranch, all made into flavored pints. While some of the combos may seem outrageous, others have become quick fan favorites, such as the Kraft Mac & Cheese flavor, which has been brought back more than once.

Collaborations aren’t limited to just brands either. Van Leeuwen has also collaborated with NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler and singer/songwriter Sabrina Carpenter to put out their own signature flavors.

Promotional Opportunities to Explore

While supplies might be limited, there are lots of opportunities to try and enjoy the new ice cream.

Several Van Leeuwen locations in New York City, Nashville, Dallas, and Chicago will provide free samples of the flavored ice cream along with small pours of Guinness Draught while supplies last in July.

Guinness is also launching the “pintmobiles” in Miami, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Columbus, and San Diego. The custom-designed vans will deliver treats and tiny pints to fans, while anyone over 21 years old near Hermosa Beach, California, can visit a Guinness pop-up at Spyder Surf Shop on August 9th to sample the new collaboration.
