Lay’s has launched 40 limited-edition potato chip flavors for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the rollout built around global recipes and soccer fans getting ready for the tournament.

According to Lay’s, via PR Newswire the new lineup is inspired by cuisines from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

The New York Post reported that only three of the 40 flavors will be sold in the U.S., which keeps the American launch focused and easy to follow. The other flavors will appear in select international markets.

Lay’s is promoting 40 total flavors, but they’re not all public yet. These are the flavors named so far:

  • Lay’s Argentinian-Style Steak with Chimichurri
  • Lay’s Brazilian-Style Garlic Sauce
  • Lay’s Wavy French Onion Soup
  • Lay’s Argentinian Asado/Steak
  • Lay’s Canadian Maple Caramel
  • Lay’s English Bangers and Mash
  • Lay’s Mexican Tacos
  • Lay’s Portuguese Chorizo and Onion

Sporked reported that the Argentinian-Style Steak with Chimichurri is a returning U.S. flavor, while Brazilian-Style Garlic Sauce and Wavy French Onion Soup are new U.S. options.

  • The Brazilian-Style Garlic Sauce chips blend buttery garlic, creamy dairy, and a lemony finish.
  • The Wavy French Onion Soup leans into aged cheddar, herbs, and a thicker chip. While the
  • Argentinian-Style Steak with Chimichurri brings steak-style seasoning with herbs, garlic, and citrus.

Delish reported that the French Onion Soup to be the most balanced of the three flavors.

Despite three new flavors, part of me wants to know what we’re missing overseas. Canadian Maple Caramel sounds odd, but also kind of great.

Lay’s says the three limited-edition flavors will be available at retailers nationwide, on TikTok Shop, and on snacks.com beginning in early May. International flavors are expected at local retailers in select markets starting in April.

The FIFA World Cup 26 runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026. It will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and it is the first men’s World Cup with 48 teams and three host countries.
