
In recent food news, a supplement powder has been recalled nationwide after it has been linked to Salmonella Typhimurium. Officials have already confirmed that 45 people across 21 states have been impacted, 12 of whom have been hospitalized.
There have been no deaths reported.
According to the FDA, Superfoods, Inc., who does business as Live It Up, issued the recall on January 15, 2026. The recall covers Super Greens in Original and Wild Berry flavors.
If you buy or use these products, look out for expiration dates between August 2026 and January 2028.
The FDA has also highlighted that the majority of products within the recall were sold online. This includes the company website and major online marketplaces.
However, regardless of your point of purchase, check the product if you have it. The FDA states that the recall specifically includes:
- Live it Up Super Greens: Net weight 8.5 oz (240 g), with the UPC 860013190804
- Live it Up Super Greens: 30 0.28 oz (8 g) sticks, Net weight 8.47 oz (240 g), with the UPC 850077468063
- Live it Up Super Greens, Wild Berry: Net weight 8.5 oz (240 g), with the UPC 860013190811
- Live it Up Super Greens, Wild Berry: 30 0.32 oz (9 g) sticks, Net weight 9.52 oz (270 g), with the UPC 850077468070

Grab the bag or box the product is in and do the following:
- If you are using it, stop using it right away until you have conducted the check.
- Look for expiration dates from 08/2026 to 01/2028.

As the CDC put it, do not eat recalled powder. Throw it out or return it, and clean up anything it may have touched.

Currently, illness onset dates range from August 22, 2025, through December 30, 2025. The investigation into the problem is ongoing.
It’s important to know that officials may still identify more affected products, so this recall should be monitored if you use Live It Up products.
Another element to factor in is age. NBC Los Angeles reported that older adults and people with weakened immune systems may be hit harder by Salmonella. So if you’re 65 and older, or dealing with chronic conditions, call your healthcare provider if you have consumed this product.
Symptoms of Salmonella
The CDC lists common symptoms like diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps.
The illness can last several days, and a severe case of Salmonella may result in dehydration and hospitalization.
