You’ve probably seen hot honey menu items across various fast food options lately. The newest is from McDonald’s. A new line-up launched on January 27, 2026, and is now available nationwide. Be warned, it’s a short list of limited-time items.

One of the menu items that’s delicious is the Hot Honey Sausage Egg Biscuit, pitched as having 17g of protein, which is another new trend across fast food chains. It’s a classic breakfast sandwich, but finished with a sweet-heat sauce (hot honey). Giving it a morning sweetness and kick.

Other items include:

  • Hot Honey McCrispy
  • Bacon Hot Honey McCrispy
  • Hot Honey Snack Wrap

You don’t need the hot honey on your sandwich, wrap, or burger. You can opt for a Hot Honey Sauce dip cup if you’d rather control the drizzle yourself.

The sauce is the star of the show here, and it might seem like a modest tweak, but once you drizzle a little on that breakfast sandwich, you’ll realize why hot honey has become a new menu favorite.

Shamrock Shake

McDonald’s is also bringing back its most famous green shake later this month. According to the corporate site, the Shamrock Shake and the OREO Shamrock McFlurry are officially set to return to menus.

The company frames it as the annual mint season kickoff, with the shake’s original debut traced back to 1970.

February 20 is the date to circle if you want to pick these items up on launch day. Like the hot honey line-up, the menu run is limited. So if you want to try any new menu item, visit McDonald’s ASAP.

If you cannot wait, the Shamrock Shake will be available February 17 in some stores.

A quick health-minded way to order

For anyone watching sugar, sodium, or calories, these drops can still fit, you just have to be a little sensible. I’m in that boat now. My tactic is always:

  • Split what you’re ordering, so share a Shamrock Shake instead of going solo.
  • Grab the hot honey sauce on the side, and use less than you think you want.
  • When having something from a fast food restaurant, balance it out over the next few days with healthier meals.

Quick recap: the hot honey menu is here now, and Shamrock season starts February 20. Both runs are limited-time, so don’t wait if you want to check them out.
