Shake Shack Offers Free Chicken Shack With $10 Order For Limited Time

Shake Shack is giving customers a free Chicken Shack with a qualifying fast-food order at participating locations through April 27. 

The offer is part of the chain’s spring promotion and it applies when you spend at least $10, add the sandwich to your cart, and use the right promo code at checkout. 

Brand Eating reported that the deal is live now, and Shake Shack’s own offer page confirms the April 20 to April 27 window. 

A spring deal with some fine print

According to Shake Shack, the free item is either a Chicken Shack or a Chicken Shack Lettuce Wrap, with a maximum savings of $9.99. 

The promotion is available at participating locations only. This excludes airports, stadiums, arenas, travel plazas, and museums. It also does not work for drive-thru orders or third-party delivery apps. 

Here’s some more of the fine print:

• Your order has to include at least $10 worth of food or drinks, not counting the free Chicken Shack itself. Gift cards, taxes, delivery fees, and other fees do not count toward that minimum. 
• Shake Shack states that you also need to add at least one Chicken Shack or Chicken Shack Lettuce Wrap to the cart before checkout, and paid add-ons like avocado or bacon are excluded from the free offer. 

These conditions matter, because you don’t want to be expecting that $9.99 discount only to miss-out because of the fine print. 

The regular Chicken Shack is a pretty solid freebie. The sandwich comes with a crispy-fried chicken breast filet, lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk herb mayo on a toasted potato bun. It normally costs about $9.49 in Los Angeles, so it’s not some tiny throw-in item. 

Ordering without missing the code

To get the deal, order through the Shake Shack app, on ShakeShack.com, or at an in-store kiosk. Then use the promo code SPRINGCHICKEN at checkout. 

As Shake Shack put it, the code is case sensitive and only works in all caps. 

For anyone who misses this one, there’s still another version on the calendar. Shake Shack states its Chicken Sundays promotion continues through Sunday, June 28, 2026, using the code CHICKENSUNDAY for a similar free Chicken Shack offer with a $10 minimum purchase. Different code, but it’s the same basic idea.
