The fast-food giant Smashburger rolled out a Scorchin menu on January 6, 2026. It adds some delicious sounding spicy options, including a hot dog, chicken, and there’s even a $4.99 value pick.

This news comes from PR Newswire, who reported that the rollout is meant to “turn up the heat during the winter months.” Considering the temperature over the last few months, perhaps this menu update could have been better served up late 2025.

Regardless, Smashburger CEO Jim Sullivan called the lineup a push to match “evolving guest expectations,” with taste positioned as the brand’s “competitive edge.”

I’m always on the look out for menu changes, mostly hoping my once loved fast food restaurants have figured out a zero sugar, zero cholesterol option that tastes good.

One of the highlights on this updated menu is the Scorchin’ Cheesy Mac Smash. It’s a Certified Angus Beef burger with American cheese, a crispy “Scorchin’ hot cheesy mac patty,” and spicy chipotle mayo on a Kerry Butter toasted bun. That sounds delicious.

Hot dog fans aren’t left out. The Scorchin’ Big Dog is a quarter-pound 100% Angus Beef hot dog set on top of that same smashed-and-crisped cheesy mac patty, finished with spicy chipotle mayo. That mac patty is pressed right on the grill so it forms into the bun. I can feel my blood pressure rising just at the sound of that one. Anyone with a New Years resolution to be healthier, should stop reading now.

Chicken fans aren’t left out either. The Scorchin’ Chicken Smash is built on a Scorchin’ seasoned ground chicken burger with pepper jack cheese, pickles, and mayo on a butter-toasted bun.

What else is on the menu?

The PR release lays out the sides to the main events too, and it’s all about heat. From Scorchin’ Fries, and Scorchin’ Tots, to Scorchin’ Chicken Tenders and a cup of Scorchin’ Cheesy Mac.

If you love spice and Smashburger, now is probably the time to visit.

What’s great is that the $4.99 All-The-Time Value Menu includes the Scorchin’ Chicken Smash too. So if you want to keep costs down while checking out the menu, you can.

In the PR release Smashburger founder Tom Ryan said it’s a “Burn with Benefits” and highlighted that a milder “Cheesy Mac” version of the Cheesy Mac Smash and Big Dog are available for people who want the flavor without the burn.

A quick health check before you order

If you’re 50+, have health issues (like me) and are watching numbers, a few tweaks might be able to take the edge off without turning the meal into punishment.

  • Split the mac-topped items, half now, half later.
  • Ask for chipotle mayo on the side. Sauces add up fast.
  • Pair with water rather than a sugary drink.
  • If blood pressure is a concern, go easier on salty sides and skip extra dipping cups.

Smashburger’s website notes the Scorchin’ items are at participating locations nationwide.
