Starbucks is branching out even more, apart from their new summer menu, with new food items. As Starbucks adds fresh-baked food to the menu, more and more customers will want to sit down and truly experience the coffee-shop experience, drawing more shoppers to their chain.

Starbucks hopes that they’ll evolve it’s brand to focus on the coffeehouse community, with the phrase “Back to Starbucks”.

Here’s everything we know about the fresh-baked food that Starbucks is working on. The main one that customers are excited about is their update to their classic croissant, as well as their addition of two new bakery items. One is a raspberry croissant filled with jam and a double chocolate cookie with flaky sea salt.

“We’re going to get back to fresh-baked food,” says CEO Brian Niccol. Most of the food that you get at Starbucks is prepackaged and frozen, which is easy to reheat for a warm bite. But that doesn’t fit the feel of a coffeehouse, more like a fast-food chain. The hope is to make customers want to stay a while.

Along with this addition to the menu, there is slight talk about adding a protein cold foam; however, it’s still being tested. With the growth of protein coffees, this is a great way to encourage customers to come back without skipping their protein goals.
