Subway has launched a buy one, get one free footlong offer at participating U.S. locations from April 1 through April 28, 2026.

According to Subway, customers can get a free footlong with the purchase of another footlong during that window. There are a few caveats, the biggest is that the deal is tied to digital ordering only. So you cannot get the offer via the counter.

PR Newswire reported the promotion was announced on March 30, 2026, with Subway pitching it as a response to the pressure many Americans feel from higher gas prices, rent, utilities, and grocery bills.

It’s a straight value play, and for plenty of customers, it’ll be one that gets attention.

Most of you will know what fast-food is available at Subway, but for those who don’t, Subway is the go-to destination for quick sandwiches built your way. Subway serves millions of guests each day and has more than 35,000 restaurants around the world, with locations run as independent franchises.

What do you need for the deal?

Subway states that the BOGO offer only works on orders placed through the Subway app or website, and you need to use promo code FLBOGO at checkout. If you don’t use the code, you won’t get a free sandwich.

There are limits, too. For example, the free footlong must be of equal or lesser value, add-ons cost extra, tax still applies, and the offer can’t be combined with other promotions.

Additionally, it’s one use per order.

Source86 notes the deal is open to current Sub Club members and to people who join Sub Club while the promotion is running. That means Subway is not just handing out a discount, it’s steering customers toward its own app and website, which feels very on-brand for how these chains operate now.

A few sandwiches are excluded from the mix. These include Fresh Fit, 5 Meat Italian, and Big Hot Pastrami. Plus, Sub Club availability does not extend to third-party delivery, catering, or gift card purchases.

So, the deal is real, but it works best if you go in knowing the rules.
