Taco Bell is bringing back its Shredded Beef Dipping Taco nationwide for a limited time starting May 21 at participating locations.
The birria-inspired menu item returns alongside a new Shredded Beef Nacho Fries option, giving fans two ways to try the chain’s slow-braised shredded beef.
According to Taco Bell, the returning taco combines slow-braised shredded beef, a three-cheese blend, and creamy jalapeño sauce inside a white corn tortilla with a grilled cheese crust. It also comes with a red dipping sauce on the side, which is really the whole point here. You don’t bring back a dipping taco unless people remember the dip.
The dipping taco has a fast-food comfort factor, but with a little more going on than the usual late-night drive-thru order. Crispy shell, melted cheese and deliciously saucy beef.
A saucy favorite returns
Liz Matthews, Taco Bell’s Global Chief Food Innovation Officer, said “We love when a taco like this becomes more than just a bite — it’s about how every ingredient works together.” She continued: “This one is rich, crispy and melty, so when you dip it in the savory sauce, every bite of the Shredded Beef Dipping Taco feels like a new discovery of flavors.”
QSR Magazine reported that the Shredded Beef Dipping Taco is available for $3.99. That price may vary by location, and Taco Bell says availability is limited while supplies last. Taxes are extra, and delivery prices can be higher.
New Shredded Beef Nacho Fries
Dexerto reported that Taco Bell is also rolling out Shredded Beef Nacho Fries for the first time. That new item takes the same slow-braised shredded beef and adds it to Nacho Fries with pico de gallo, nacho cheese sauce, creamy jalapeño sauce, and a three-cheese blend.
This is the kind of loaded fast-food item that feels designed for people who want a fork, a few napkins, and no judgment.
Nation’s Restaurant News added that the Shredded Beef Nacho Fries are priced at $5.49. The publication also reported that the returning taco first debuted in 2023, when Taco Bell introduced slow-braised shredded beef nationwide.
Fans can order the Shredded Beef Dipping Taco on its own at participating Taco Bell locations. It’s also available as part of the $9 Discovery Luxe Box, which includes a Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito, Doritos Locos Taco, chips with nacho cheese sauce, and a medium fountain drink.
