A while back, Walmart actually had fast-food chains inside its stores. It started with Subway, then changed over to Domino’s Pizza and Taco Bell. But now, Walmart is partnering with a new fast-food chain. That’s right. It’s exciting to hear that Wienerschnitzel announces new locations inside Walmart stores.

Walmart has been vacant of a food chain for years, and customers are excited to see that it’s coming back. The California-based hot dog franchise, Wienerschnitzel, is the lucky food chain to be selected as a partner with the superstore.

Wienerschnitzel announced in late May that they’re in the works of developing six restaurants across the West, launching a non-traditional growth push for the hot dog franchise.

The director of franchise expansion, Shak Turner, talked about the growth in a press release from the company, saying, “Wienerschnitzel has spent decades building a strong reputation, especially on the West Coast, and this expansion into Walmart stores signifies a new era of growth for the brand.”

The company is hoping to seek expansion into “non-traditional venues” such as airports, military bases, theme parks, food courts, and more.

“These non-traditional formats allow us to modernize our footprint, bring our iconic flavors to new audiences, and reinforce the brand’s relevance in today’s evolving retail and dining landscape,” Turner continued.

Customers will be happy to know that the full menu of the hot dog eatery will be available at the Walmart locations, so you won’t be missing out. Shoppers will be able to try out some of the most iconic items on the menu, like the Chili Cheese Dog, Junkyard Dog, Chili Cheese Fries, Japeno Poppers, and Tastee Freez soft serve desserts.

However, many states will not be able to experience yet. While Wienerschnitzel announces new locations inside Walmart stores, there are only a select number of superstores that are open for this expansion.

According to the company, Wienerschnitzel will open in Walmart locations in the following cities by fall of 2025:

  • Puyallup, Washington
  • Alamogordo, New Mexico
  • Tempe, Arizona
  • Reno, Nevada
  • Colorado Springs, Colorado
  • Bakersfield, California

Hopefully we can see the chain start to migrate into more stores so everyone can enjoy the amazing hot dog chain.
