2. put the olive oil, chillies and garlic (and the pepperoni if you’re having it) into the frying pan and let them cook for a little bit, then add the tomatoes, just leave this to cook for about 10-15 minutes

3. once the tomatoes are soft enough, smush them with a fork so they go to a paste, and then add the red wine and chilli powder

3. leave this to cook down while you boil the pasta following the instructions on the packet

4. once the pasta is done, strain it and then transfer the sauce from the frying pan into the pasta pan, so you can mix the pasta and the sauce together

5. serve the pasta and sauce nice and hot, and if you want, top it with grated parmesan cheese
