Banoffee Cake

A yummy, scrummy cake just like the pie but not quite!

Ingredients

  • *2 over ripe bananas
  • *170g caster sugar
  • *170g soft margarine
  • *170g self raising flour
  • *a few drops of vanilla essence
  • *3 eggs
  • *splash of milk
  • 300ml whipping cream or double cream
  • 397g can caramel or make your own
  • 2 cadburys flakes
  • 1 or 2 just right bananas

Instructions

  1. 1. Everything with * makes the banana cake (if you want to you could just have an ordinary sponge but i personally thinks this tastes better) to make it pre heat the oven to gas mark 4/180°c.

  2. 2. In a bowl beat the sugar and margarine together.

  3. 3. Add the milk, eggs and vanilla and whisk, now put in your flour then whisk again.

  4. 4. Mash your over ripe bananas with a fork and mix in well.

  5. 5. Put your mixture in two greased and lined tins (preferably round victoria sponge tins) and then out in the oven for around 30 mins but keep peeping just to be sure or until springy, then you can take them out and place on cooling wires.

  6. 6. While they are cooling in a bowl whip/beat the cream until light and fluffy, when the cakes are cool on the top of one on your cream,

  7. 7. Now with your just right bananas slice them a arrange them on top of the cream then put of top of that so of your crushed flake and then on top of that put some of the caramel on top.

  8. 8. Now put your seconded cake on top and spread all over your cake, on the top put another layer of caramel.

  9. 9. Now put the rest of your sliced bananas on top and then pipe some cream around the edge of the top of the cake.

  10. 10. Next put the last of your crushed flake on the top or/and some around your cake.

  11. 11. Last but not least indulge yourself by eating it, mmmm
