Tasty Seasoned Beef Stew

With vegetables in tomato sauce +

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of mince or stewing cubes
  • 2 medium onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 courgette
  • a few sliced mushrooms
  • chopped tomatoes
  • 1/3 tube tomato puree
  • seasoning
  • salt (1.5 teaspoons)
  • course black pepper (1 teaspoon)
  • garlic granules (1 teaspoon)
  • cinnamon (2 teaspoons)
  • paprika(2 teaspoons)
  • ginger - 3/4 teaspoon
  • chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • majoram - 2 teaspoons
  • the stew has a sweet and sour taste lightly spiced but not hot.
  • i don't measure the seasoning exactly - i just use lots of paprika, cinamon and majoram and then smaller amounts of the remaining ingredients.

Method

Fry onions and garlic for a few minutes.

add the carrots.

add the meat

add the seasoning

fry until the meat is brown.

add the remaining chopped vegetables - fry for a few minutes until covered in seasoning.

finally add the chopped tomatoes and puree and add 1-2 cups of water and simmer for 20-30 minutes if using mince or 1 to 2 hours if using stewing steak until meat is soft.

serves 4-6
