Step 1: Heat oil in a deep frying pan.
Step 3: rinse the fish, pat dry, and season with salt and pepper.
Step 5: put the flour in a bowl with a bit of salt and pepper .
Step 7: stir the egg into the flour.
Step 9: gradually mix the beer to make a thin batter.
Step 11: dip the fish into the batter (the batter should be thin enough to still see the fish)
Step 13: drop the fish into the hot oil, turn it once, until both sides are golden.
Step 15: drain on paper towel
Step 18: serve with chips and mushy peas (use packet instructions)
Step 22: and they you have it fish and chips!
