Step 1:

  • In a saucepan, add pasta and milk. (Double-check if the saucepan is larger than what’s required to prevent the milk from spilling over!)
  • Step 2:

  • Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 20 minutes, until pasta is soft, stirring frequently. Be sure the milk does not boil.
  • Step 3:

  • Turn the heat off.
  • Step 4:

  • Add cheese & salt.
  • Step 5:

  • Stir to combine.
  • Step 6:

  • Stir in the mustard a little at a time to taste.
  • Step 7:

  • Cover and let stand for about 5 minutes, then stir again and serve.
  • Step 8:

  • Add a tablespoon or more milk to your desired creaminess level.
  • Step 9:

  • Gently stir.
  • Step 10:

  • Optional: Oven Finish- Place in a baking dish and top with a generous sprinkling of cheese and bake at 200C degrees for approximately 10 minutes until the cheese has melted.
  • Step 11:

  • Optional: Top with some crispy bacon!
