Brocolli Cheese

Like cauliflower cheese… only brocolli!

Ingredients

  • This is enough for a main meal for one, or a side dish for 2.
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 4 tablespoons of plain flour
  • enough milk to make a sauce (as thick as you want)
  • as much grated cheese as you want – i’d say about a medium sized handful
  • a brocolli
  • salt and pepper.

Instructions

  1. cut the brocolli into bitesize pieces, place in salted water and put it on to boil. Just the head, just obvs. don’t worry about the stalk.

  2. heat the oven to about gas mark 6 or about 180-200 degrees

  3. put the butter in a pan, over a medium heat, just let it melt, don’t let it bubble and burn. then mix the flour in bit by bit. you might need to take it off the heat for a sec and slowly whick the milk in, let it cook for a bit on a low heat to cook the taste of the flour out.

  4. mix the cheese in and add salt and pepper.

  5. when the brocolli is ready, drain it and mix it in with the cheese sauce.

  6. tip it all into an ovenproof dish and cover with a bit more cheese.

  7. bake for about 15-20 mins, until it looks all bubbly and delicious!
