Brown Rice

Preparation for 12 meals for the lazy and impatient like me
Difficulty Level: easy
Ingredients
- 5 cups brown rice
- water
- medium sized zip-lock bags
Instructions
Brown rice takes at least 30 minutes to cook, so if you’re impatient like me, then this is a great way have it ready when you want it.
cook 5 cups of brown rice according to packet instructions.
let it cool a bit, then portion the rice into the zip lock bags. 5 cups of rice tends to give me 12 bags. That’s 12 meals. Then chuck in the freezer.
to thaw, bring a saucepan of water to the boil (or boil the kettle and pour that into the saucepan, yeah, student life…) and chuck it in that for a few minutes.
to make a quick easy meal, add some drained tuna, a spoonful of wholegrain mustard and some salt and pepper. Or you could even just stir in half a teaspoon of curry powder and some salt and pepper.
there is only 10 bags in the picture ‘cos i’ve already eaten 2.
