Brown rice takes at least 30 minutes to cook, so if you’re impatient like me, then this is a great way have it ready when you want it. Step 3:
cook 5 cups of brown rice according to packet instructions. Step 5:
let it cool a bit, then portion the rice into the zip lock bags. 5 cups of rice tends to give me 12 bags. That’s 12 meals. Then chuck in the freezer. Step 7:
to thaw, bring a saucepan of water to the boil (or boil the kettle and pour that into the saucepan, yeah, student life…) and chuck it in that for a few minutes. Step 9:
to make a quick easy meal, add some drained tuna, a spoonful of wholegrain mustard and some salt and pepper. Or you could even just stir in half a teaspoon of curry powder and some salt and pepper. Step 11:
