Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 125g bacon slices, chopped
  • 500g minced beef
  • 1 x 400g can tomatoes
  • 1 x 400g red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 tablespoon of chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat oil in saucepan. Add onion, garlic, bacon and fry for 5 minutes.

  2. 2. Add beef and fry for another 5 minutes or until it loses the pink colour.

  3. 3. Stir in all the remaining ingredients.

  4. 4. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.

  5. Serve with fluffy white rice.
