Chicken fried rice

A simple student take on the Chinese staple

Ingredients

  • chicken – one breast per person
  • eggs – 1/2 per person depending on your personal preference
  • Rice – cup per person
  • spring onions – depends on your own personal taste
  • soy sauce
  • Oil – any is fine
  • carrots
  • Chinese 5 spice (optional)

Instructions

  1. First, chop up your chicken breast into small chunks and marinate with a tiny bit of oil and Chinese 5 spice

  2. Second, heat up some water in a saucepan and start to cook your rice

  3. Third, heat up some oil in a pan and whisk up your eggs. Then pour your egg mixture into the pan and scramble. Take your scrambled egg out of the saucepan and put to the side.

  4. Fourth, re-heat up some oil in the saucepan and cook your chicken thoroughly.

  5. Fifth, your rice should now be cooked, after draining put the rice in your saucepan with the chicken and then add the eggs, mix all together. Once all the ingredients are mixed together add a generous amount of soy sauce for flavouring and then keep mixing all the ingredients together for a further 5 minutes.

  6. Sixth, plate up and enjoy! 🙂
