Easy To Cook Jerk Chicken

Jerk Chicken, simple and easy to cook

Ingredients

  • Packet of uncooked chicken wings, thighs or drumsticks
  • Paprika
  • All purpose seasoning powder
  • Jerk seasoning paste (world food section of supermarkets or in any corner shop) These pastes come in glass containers and there are different brands with different strengths..
  • Mild - Walkerswood jamaican jerk seasoning
  • Hot - Grace jamaican jerk seasoning
  • Very Hot!!! - Dunns River jerk seasoning
  • Any bbq sauce, i like to use reggae reggae sauce

Method

First wash and trim the fatty bits off your your chicken (optional)

Tablespoon of jerk paste, paprika, all purpose into a mixing bowl then add a desirable amount of BBQ sauce, the texture needs to be a smooth consistency so that it can smoother your chicken.

You can be experimentive in this stage, by adding other sauces likes nandos sauces or other powdered seasoning such as herbs or spice.

Add the chicken to mixing bowl and get stuck in mixing all the mixture over the chicken so it sticks to the chicken and is nicely coated, u may add a lil oil if your mixture is to thick or add more seasoning or paste or sauce if too runny..

Cover and leave in fridge until ready to cook, by leaving the chicken you are allowing the flavours to soak into the meat.

Put seasoned chicken on a baking tray and cook at a moderate heat for 1-2 hrs depending on the size of the chicken and the heat of the oven..The chicken will be done when it has browned, the browner the better in my eyes..

Serve with rice, chips, salad, pasta what ever you wish

    Hi.i love the dunn river paste.i rub it into the massive legs I bye from my butchers.then put it in the fridge for 24hrs.
    The next evening il put a bag of charcoal into mybbq smoker.and throw the chicken on there close the lid hr to two hrs later after smoking the jerked chicken.pull it of with some rice coleslaw and kidney bean woow pucker.xxx

    I have just prepared this and have left it to slowely maranite in the fridge, i added two red onions, 1 normal onion, 1 red pepper, 1 green pepper and followed youre recipe for the seasoning. Im going to cook some basmati rice and add some kidney beans.. lets hope i dont make my parents mouths overheat! My trust is with you!

    Tried this and it is amazing. You have to like your spices if you are going to make it, or just use a milder jerk seasoning paste, because my mouth was on fire! Really delicious and good value for money, once you have the paste/seasoning you will have them for ages. Chicken drumsticks work out at good value too as you only have two or three per meal. Make it!

    u can also grill the chicken, especially if you are using thighs or wings..Just wash and trim the chicken, then massages the jerk seasoning into the chicken and grill, turning occasionally until you have a browned, barbequed look..Very tasty
