One of the best variations you can do with this recipe is add in different dried fruits instead of just raisins. While raisins are a great addition, adding dried cherries, apricots, or cranberries would be a great replacement. Even jam would really bring some sweetness and tartness to the dish to make it an even more well-rounded baked good.
If you’re looking for more sweetness and want to add chocolate, you can add cocoa powder in with the butter, sugar and syrup, or add bakers’ chocolate chunked up in the batter with your dried fruit. This would make the perfect desert.
There are also several variations you can do if you want to just add some toppings, like marshmallows, salted caramel chocolate drizzle, or any variation of, or maybe just some extra honey with seeds or nuts.
If you’re interested in a fresher alternative, you can turn these amazing flapjacks into banana or apple flapjacks.
Whatever your craving is, there are several different forms when making this delicious treat that can be perfect for any breakfast or dessert treat.
