chocolate fairy cakes

simple, easy and simple to vary

Ingredients

• FOR THE CAKE
• 50g caster sugar
• 50g butter or margarine
• 75g self raising flour
• 1 egg
• 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
• if its dry add a little milk 🙂
• you can add choc chips, banana, cherries or whateva to this aswell 🙂
• FOR THE ICING
• 75g butter
• 150g icing sugar
• some hot water
• 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
• if you want to put sweets or choclolate on top you can do that aswell 🙂

Instructions

STEP 1:

FOR THE CAKE

1) mix together the butter and sugar until smooth and creamy. add the egg,mix well.

STEP 3:

2) Mix in the flour and cocoa powder and any exras you want to put in (e.g choclate chunks, banana, cherries….)

STEP 5:

3) put in the oven at 180’c for 15-20 mins

STEP 7:

wait until the cakes have cooled,then

FOR THE ICING

STEP 11:

STEP 12:

1) beat together the sugar and butter and add a little hot water to get it to mix. add the hot water in lil drops so u don’t use too much.

2) add the cocoa powder and mix well

STEP 15:

3) spread over the cakes and add a topping if wished ( such as chocolate, weets, sprinkles…)
