Peel (if necessary) and chop potatoes, carrots, celery, bacon, thyme, parsley, and place in a large saucepan with sausages and dumplings.
Cover ingredients with hot water.
Dissolve and add the stock cubes.
Bring to the boil and then simmer until everything is cooked (usually an hour).
