Step 1:
1.Wash lentils under cold running water Step 3:
2.Boil lentils in salted water (follow instructions on packet, although a shorter boiling time can be used) Step 5:
3. Drain lentils and rinse again Step 7:
4.Finely Chop onion Step 9:
5. Soften and slightly brown the onion in a pan with a splash of oil Step 11:
6. Add desired ammount of curry powder (dependent on strength) and fry with the onions for a few minutes Step 13:
7. Add the lentils and about 1 pint of warm water (or stock if preferred) and season accordingly – although maybe less salt Step 15:
8. Simmer for about 30 mins so liquid reduces Step 17:
9. Enjoy on their own or with a Dolloped of fresh mash
