Step 2: -in a pressure cooker add it alongwith water and cook it for 2-3 whistles. Step 3: -in a pan add some oil.Then add the mustard seeds and asafoetida or garlic and stir fry it. Step 4: -then add red chilli powder and turmeric and stir it. Step 5: -then add the cooked dal. Step 6: -add some water and allow it to boil for some time. Step 7: -then add the tamarind juice or tomato and jaggery and boil it again for some time. Step 8: -add some salt and stir it well. Step 9: -finally add coriander leaves.
