Egg Free Cookies

Published by Matt

I discovered these by accident

  • NO EGGS!
  • 12oz Self Raising Flour
  • 8oz Soft Margarine
  • 8oz Caster Sugar
  • 2oz Dark Chocolate Drops (or anything else you fancy putting in; smarties, white chocolate drops, raisins etc.)

1 - Mix the ingerdients together in a big bowl, use your hands to knead the dough, it shouldn't be at all crumbly, so add a little more margarine if it is.

2 - Take a small ball of dough, about the size of 1 and a half ping pong balls and squeeze it so it's a circle about 1.5cm thick

3 - Place on a greased tray.

You can make between 16 - 22 cookies, so use 2 trays.

4 - Cook in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 15 mins.

5 - Eat them while they're hot! Taste magic with a glass of milk :)

Thought these would fail, I didnt even follow the ingredients right, I forgot all the sugar, i put them into heart shapes, and spreaded jam on top, tasted the bomb! They remind me of scones/shortbread. :)

I had to look up the UK version of 'smarties'-something very different in US. Would have made a weird cookie. (nerdy laughter)

The recipe is amazing, we had no eggs and I really wanted to make some cookies. I halved the mixture and added just over a tablespoon of coco powder, and they tasted great. Thanks for this recipe :)

Sooo good! Made two batches and now have about a billion biscuits. I'm not complaining. Taking them into school for all my lonely friends on valentines day! I must say , i was really worried about the first batch in the oven, they were really soft, but as soon as i took them out, they rocked! Thanks so much!
